Judi was born and raised in Chicago and
before graduating from high school (to her parents delight) had secured
a position with the Department of the Army, 5th Army Headquarters, where
she met her husband, Al, a soldier stationed there. Judi and Al
were married in 1962. Other
than a few evening classes, Judi has no formal training in art.
Most of her work experience has been in the fields of personnel and
accounting administration, working for several Chicago CPA and law
firms. She also served for fifteen years as controller of the
family assets of a prominent investment banker. After moving from
Chicago to Plymouth, Indiana, Judi held the position of Executive
Director of a local not-for-profit performing arts organization. |

During her working years, Judi collected
beads, beads and more beads and from 1996 - 2005, while on vacation, she
took beading classes in California. In 2006, she began
experimenting with her own collection of beads and stored-up ideas.
Judi has been a member of the Art Guild
since moving to Tennessee. She is also a member of CACE and the
former Cumberland Valley Bead Society. In 2009 she began teaching
bead-weaving in her home studio where she continues to collect and
experiment with large and small beads and findings. Two of her
pieces were awarded ribbons during the Spring 2009 "You be the Judge"
Art Show at the Plateau Creative Arts Center.
A goal is now to combine the art of
bead-weaving and hand-dyed spun and/or wet-felted fibers. |
