BEVERLY FLANKEY, Artist
I started painting in oil on canvas 1976 with lessons from a local artist. I also took classes from two teachers in Cloquet, Minnesota. For a time I had to quit to raise my three sons . My set-up for painting was located in my kitchen and I found this too difficult with cooking meals and taking care of home duties. Working outside of my home left no time for artwork until I retiring in 1993. Moving from Cloquet north to Lake Vermilion, Minnesota there I resumed painting by taking a watercolor class. After moving to Fairfield Glade I joined the Art Guild and took classes from members. I also took an online course with Johannes Vloothius a landscape artist.
I carry a diagnosis of MS and art is my therapy. Art is an enjoyment to occupy my mind.
