NANCY HAMM, Artist
A lifetime curiosity observing people, places and interest in art coupled with the purchase of a digital camera came together to allow Nancy to pursue art in the form of photography. Prior attempts at working with various media failed until with the click of a camera a new world opened.
Confidence came with pictures of flowers (they didn't run or fly away). Expanding to taking pictures at random and perusing photos in detail often brought exciting and unexpected results. Photoshop Elements increased her knowledge of how to take ordinary photos and make them extraordinary; quite a discovery for a person who was convinced creating something artistic was out of her realm. In addition, being involved with members of The Art Guild At Fairfield Glade helped Nancy see the world in a new way. Knowledge leads to additional knowledge opening her creative journey onto ever expanding pathways.
Nancy's photos have won several ribbons in art shows and have been accepted in The Art Guild's Judged and Juried Show which is open to all artists. Her work has been exhibited at the Place Theatre in Crossville, TN, The Emporium in Knoxville, TN, and Good Samaritan in Fairdield Glade, TN. Her work is regularly hung at the Plateau Creative Arts Center in Fairfield Glade, TN.
Nancy and her husband Jim have lived in Fairfield Glade since 2000. Nancy served as president of The Art Guild At Fairfield Glade 2004 through 2006.
