NINA HARDISON, Artist
Nina, a previous resident East Texas, began painting in the 1970’s. Upon retiring from a 30-year communications career in 2000, she revived her love of painting in oils. She states, “Since becoming an emerging artist in her senior years, learning one medium well is her goal”. Nina paints daily in her home studio. She has studied with many well-known art instructors and continues to study and paint with other artists at the local Art Guild in Fairfield Glade.
Nina has exhibited with major art organizations in Texas and North Carolina. Her paintings of Venice were accepted by the 23CPW Gallery i8n New York for the past two years. She has won competitive awards in Texas, North Carolina and most recently in the fall show of the Art Guild in Fairfield Glade.
Nina has served on art boards for non-profit organizations in Texas and North Carolina. Her love for art and sharing the importance of the culture is one of the most important goals in her life.
Her idea is to bring life to the canvas. Her subjects, beautiful or interesting, come to the viewer in brilliant oils depicting a moment in time. “Paintings should make you think, not only admire or agree with the artist. Our personal space is an emotional treasure, so my paintings should enhance the space we treasure”.
Today Nina lives in Fairfield Glade, TN, with her husband, Glen.
